Overview:
Native to the marshy regions of the Indian subcontinent — including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal — Hygrophila difformis, or water wisteria, is a hardy and attractive freshwater plant. Known for its ease of care, it is an excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels. Its lush, decorative foliage makes it an appealing midground or background plant, particularly in medium to large aquariums.

Appearance:
This plant features sturdy, deeply lobed, fork-shaped leaves that give it a unique, lace-like appearance. The stems can reach 20–50 cm in height and spread 15–25 cm wide, forming dense, bushy clusters that enhance aquascaping designs.
